Security & Privacy

The plain-language version of how Kinpatha handles your household's financial information.

How Kinpatha is funded

Kinpatha Free is available without charge today. We intend to fund the product through optional paid Kinpatha Pro features as they launch—not by building an advertising or personal-data-sale business. Pro purchase is currently limited to invited households, and joining the interest list does not create a subscription or payment obligation.

Our advertising and data-sale policy

  • Kinpatha does not display third-party advertisements.
  • We do not sell personal information or household financial information to advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
  • We do not use your personal or financial information for targeted advertising.

Service providers still process limited information to run Kinpatha. That processing—and disclosures required by law, needed to prevent misuse, or requested by you—is not a sale of your information.

What is shared with your household

Kinpatha is collaborative. Transactions, budgets, accounts, balances, and other information recorded in a household can be viewed by its authorized members. Invite only people with whom you intend to share that financial picture. We do not currently connect to banks; the financial information in today's product is entered by you or another household member.

Services that help us operate Kinpatha

Kinpatha currently uses Amazon Web Services for website and API hosting, operational logs, and transactional email; Neon for managed PostgreSQL database hosting; Google Analytics for product-usage measurement on the production site; Cloudflare Turnstile to protect public forms from automated abuse; Stripe to process Kinpatha Pro subscription payments (Kinpatha never receives or stores your card details); and Anthropic to generate the AI-written summary in select Pro reports, using only the minimum derived financial figures that report needs. If a household owner turns on AI help for statement imports, OpenAI or Anthropic also see scrubbed merchant names and category names for that purpose, and never amounts or dates. If you choose an available social sign-in option, Google or Facebook also processes that sign-in.

We use these companies for the roles described above, and they process information subject to their own service terms and privacy practices. See the Privacy Policy for more detail.

What our analytics measures

On kinpatha.com, Google Analytics measures page views and a small set of product events, such as selecting the create-account button or joining the Pro interest list. Kinpatha strips query strings, replaces access-bearing values in routes, and does not intentionally send names, email addresses, household names, transactions, balances, budgets, or form contents in analytics events. Google may still process technical information such as an IP address, browser or device details, and cookies or similar identifiers. Advertising signals and ad personalization are disabled in Kinpatha's tag configuration.

Security practices

Production connections use HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted hashes rather than plain text, authentication sessions expire, and API access checks are used to restrict household records to authorized members. Public account and support forms use abuse protections and request limits. No online service can promise perfect security, so we continue to review these safeguards as the product develops.

Deletion and export controls

You can permanently delete your account from Settings. Kinpatha erases your profile, login methods, sessions, notification settings, memberships, and other personal account data. A household with no remaining member and its financial records are also erased. Records in a household that still has other members remain for them, with your identity removed from creator fields. We may retain limited records where needed for security, legal, or operational purposes—for example, an email delivery-suppression record after a bounce or complaint—and deleted data may remain temporarily in backups until those backups expire.

You can also download a copy of your own data at any time from Settings—your profile plus every household you belong to, including accounts, balance history, categories, transactions, budgets, and recurring income, as a JSON file.

Future AI and financial features

Kinpatha's advertised AI checkups and advanced analysis are future Pro features, not functionality available today. Before sending household financial information to an AI provider, we will review that provider's data use, retention, model-training, and subprocessors and update our disclosures when appropriate. Future summaries or projections will be informational and educational, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and will not replace personalized financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice.
