Terms of Use
Last updated: September 19, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Kinpatha at kinpatha.com (the "Service"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service and private beta
Kinpatha gives households a shared view of income, spending, budgets, accounts, debt, assets, liabilities, and net worth so members can understand where they stand and track progress over time. The Service is in active development and currently operates as a private beta available by invitation. Features may be added, changed, interrupted, or removed.
Free and Pro features
Kinpatha provides core household finance functionality without charge. Kinpatha Pro is a paid, invite-only subscription that adds advanced reports and analysis on top of the Free plan; every household keeps its Free-plan functionality, including one Pro report sample per month, whether or not it subscribes to Pro. Features labeled "Coming Soon" or "Planned" are descriptions of intended future functionality, are not currently available, are not a promise of a launch date, and may change before release. Joining a Pro interest list does not itself create a paid subscription or payment obligation.
Paid Pro subscriptions
Kinpatha Pro is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically at the then-current price until cancelled. Where you subscribe determines who processes the payment: a subscription purchased on the Kinpatha website is processed by Stripe, and one purchased inside the Kinpatha mobile app is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) as an in-app purchase. In every case Kinpatha does not receive or store your card details. A subscription is purchased per household by a member with an owner role on that household, and its benefits (the Pro report catalog and monthly allowance) are shared by every member of that household, not just the purchaser. A household may hold only one Pro subscription at a time; to move between the website and an app-store subscription, cancel the existing one first. You may cancel at any time: a Stripe subscription from the billing management portal linked from your household's Pro page, and an App Store or Google Play subscription from your subscription settings with that store, which is the only place those can be cancelled. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billing period, and you retain Pro access until then. We do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods except where required by law; refunds for a purchase made through the App Store or Google Play are governed by that store's own refund policy and are handled by the store rather than by Kinpatha. If a payment fails, we may retry it and may suspend Pro access if payment is not received; your household's data and Free-plan functionality are never affected by a payment failure. We may change Kinpatha Pro's price prospectively; any price change will be disclosed before it applies to your next billing period. You are responsible for any taxes applicable to your purchase.
Financial and AI information
Kinpatha provides summaries, calculations, and AI-generated insights based on information entered into or connected with the Service. It may add projections and other analysis in the future. These outputs are provided for informational and educational purposes only, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and are not a substitute for personalized financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice. You remain responsible for verifying information and for your financial decisions. Investment allocation and concentration summaries describe recorded data; they do not assess whether an investment is suitable or recommend trades.
Ask Kinpatha
Ask Kinpatha is an optional, AI-assisted question-and-answer feature that draws only on your household's own recorded data. Its answers are informational and educational, are not personalized financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and should be verified before you rely on them. Ask Kinpatha conversations are shared with every member of your household and are kept for as long as the household exists; a conversation can be archived but not individually deleted. Free and Pro households each get a monthly question allowance, described on your household's Ask Kinpatha page; unused questions do not carry over, and the feature may be temporarily unavailable, for example during high demand or a provider outage.
Your account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for activity under your account. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.
Household information and permissions
Information you add to a household may be available to its other authorized members. You are responsible for having permission to enter, connect, or share information through the Service and for inviting only people who should have access to the household.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including attempting to disrupt it, access data that is not yours, expose invite or authentication tokens, or use it for an unlawful purpose. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service, such as your transaction and budget records. You grant us permission to process that content as needed to provide, protect, and improve the Service. We retain ownership of Kinpatha's software, design, and branding.
Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You can permanently delete your account from Settings. Your personal account data is erased, but shared household records remain for other members without your identity attached; limited security, legal, operational, backup, or email delivery-suppression records may also remain. You can download a copy of your data from Settings at any time before deleting your account. See our Privacy Policy for details. We may suspend or terminate access for an account that violates these Terms.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kinpatha is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
