How this calculator works

Enter each debt's current balance, annual percentage rate (APR), and minimum payment. Any extra monthly payment you add is applied entirely to one target debt at a time — the highest APR for avalanche, or the smallest balance for snowball. Once a debt is paid off, its former payment rolls into the next target debt, so your total monthly payment stays the same throughout.

Interest accrues monthly on each remaining balance at APR ÷ 12. Results are estimates for informational and educational purposes only, not personalized financial, tax, or legal advice. They assume steady payments with no new charges, rate changes, or missed payments, and don't include fees. Verify important decisions with your loan or card statements, or a qualified professional.
